Seafood Consulting Services, Inc. (SCSI), also doing business as Food Consulting Services (FCS), is a wholly owned subsidiary of Seafood Products Association (SPA).
SPA is a member-focused industry resource for technical and regulatory consultation. Formerly the Northwest Laboratory of the Grocery Manufacturers Association/Food Products Association (GMA/FPA), National Food Processors Association (NFPA), and the National Canners Association (NCA), SPA has provided member services, primarily to the seafood industry, for over 100 years.
SCSI was established in 2008 to assist SPA members and the general public with proprietary issues of food quality and food safety. Available assistance includes food safety training, process authority reviews, HACCP and food safety preventive control plan development and review services, third party auditing and audit preparation services, and routine laboratory testing. SPA members receive a discount on all SCS, Inc. services. All services provided to members can also be provided to non-members on a “fee-for-service” basis under SCSI.
